Blue Wren Cottage

Bogan Downs is a mixed grazing/farming property situated on the Bogan River, 42km north/east of the little hamlet of Coolabah. The modern Blue Wren Cottage on the property offers a relaxing stop over for travellers, en-route to the outback towns of Bourke and Brewarrina. It is also located in close proximity to the renowned National Heritage registered Macquarie Marshes.

Our property provides many picturesque locations, including a large seasonal swamp and lake which are natural environments for abundant bird and wildlife species. The billabong, adjacent to the river, is another picturesque location and attraction for wildlife. All are popular spots for bushwalking, bird watching, picnic lunches or a cool evening drink whilst taking in the beauty and splendour of the sunsets and magnificent evening skies.
